Many of you may be wondering where we have gone...the answer is nowhere and everywhere. We are still located in the same state, in the same town and in the same office in the same house; but, we have taken a new direction on a new journey. We have officially retired from the corporate world and from the worlds of education and the non-profit sector. And we have found a new venture to occupy our time - spinning. Along with a renewed passion for knitting, this new avocation has taken us down many new paths with many new and not-so-new friends. To find out more about this adventure, check out our
'Knitting with Tea-and-Roses' blog. Over the past year and a half, we have learned to spin, learned to prepare fleece from the sheep to the knitting needle and become an avid knitter of socks and many other items. This has taken time and classes and trips to yarn & fiber festivals and a new job working at a yarn, spinning & weaving shop, a major commitment and lots of energy. While all things tea (except drinking daily cups & cups of it) have taken a backseat to the fleece preparation, spinning and knitting that has been going on; it is now time to re-connect with the tea part of 'Knitting with Tea-and-Roses.' The website has been up-dated for the first time since October 2008 and Issue 7.1 of the Quarterly newsletter is now in preparation.
Our goal is to continue, in a reduced manner, the place called 'Tea-and-Roses'. We will still be blending our own teas and maintaining a web-presence; however, the printed version of the 'Tea-and-Roses Quarterly' is to be phased out. The cost of publishing a printed full-color newsletter has become prohibitive, both in time and money. With the ability to publish blogs & E-Newsletters at no or very little cost having become a reality, it is time to move on from the printed page. Now we understand how the newspaper and magazine industries feel at this time in history and we don't make this decision easily or without loss of sleep. But it is time to move on. Maintaining only the TnR website and blog is a realistic option for us now. One that will allow us the time to spend in our new pursuits while still keeping the quality of style, information and articles you have learned to expect from the Quarterly available in more current technology. This transition will take a while to accomplish and we ask for your understanding and patience as 'Tea-and-Roses' moves into the 21st century. We realize that ceremony surrounding the drinking of tea is one of calm and tranquility and we will strive to continue to bring that feeling to our website and blog. Thank you.
